MALIBU

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

Malibu is a dog that's hard to ignore. He's extremely friendly and loves human interaction, always ready for adventures together. He's a real volcano of energy and good humor. We're looking for a home without other animals, as Malibu doesn't like four-legged company and will thrive best as the only pet in the family. For children, we recommend homes with older kids. Malibu gets easily excited, and in a burst of joy, he can effectively convince you that all four paws don't have to stay on the ground. The future owner should also be patient and have a sense of humor. Malibu is currently learning how to walk on a leash. When he thinks the walk isn't going according to plan, he can dramatically lie down on the ground like a seal basking in the sun. That's why we're looking for someone who will spend some time with him and help him develop good walking habits. A home with a well-secured garden would also be welcome. Malibu is convinced that every fence was created to test what interesting things are on the other side.

PL·Show original

Malibu to pies, obok którego trudno przejść obojętnie. Jest niezwykle pozytywnie nastawiony do ludzi, uwielbia kontakt z człowiekiem i zawsze jest gotowy na wspólne przygody. To prawdziwy wulkan energii i dobrego humoru.

About MALIBU

What life with MALIBU looks like

MALIBU is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Świdnica in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting MALIBU, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about MALIBU?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Świdnica handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw MALIBU on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt MALIBU if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Świdnica will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is MALIBU already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if MALIBU isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Świdnica early rather than rehoming privately; they know MALIBU and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
