Adopt MALIKA

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 9 years

MALIKA came to us as a found cat, so unfortunately, there is no information about her past. She was born around 2010, is female, and has been neutered. At first, she is a bit shy, but she warms up with some time. Then she is talkative, friendly, people-oriented, and clingy. She likes to accompany her people in everyday life, but she does not need constant direct contact. When she wants to, she is cuddly – otherwise, she likes to observe her surroundings. Overall, MALIKA is a rather quiet cat who enjoys relaxing and, in particular, sitting in the sun. MALIKA is looking for a quiet home with older children, preferably around 15/16 years old, as too much hustle and bustle quickly causes her stress. She is incompatible with other animals and therefore should live as a single cat. She is suitable for apartment living but needs a cat-safe netted balcony where she can safely enjoy the sun. MALIKA is looking for experienced people who can give her time, peace, and love and allow her to accompany her people in everyday life. MALIKA has epilepsy and needs to take her medication twice daily at fixed times. She takes it well in a stick or a lickable form and is well-adjusted to it. Our caretakers are happy to advise you in more detail about this.

About MALIKA

What life with MALIKA looks like

MALIKA is a small adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim München in Munich.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting MALIKA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about MALIKA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim München handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw MALIKA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt MALIKA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim München will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is MALIKA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if MALIKA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim München early rather than rehoming privately; they know MALIKA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
