Adopt Malina

Female · Adult · 5 years

Malina is looking for a calm and patient home! Malina is an approximately one-year-old female dog weighing around 5kg who was rescued interventively along with her siblings from a neglected backyard, where they lived in difficult conditions. This sensitive and delicate female dog needs time to trust a human and feel safe. The animal shelter is a big challenge for her, so we are looking for a home that can give her peace, patience, and the opportunity to open up at her own pace. Jagoda is still unable to walk on a leash, as this is a completely new experience for her. She is slowly learning to walk, but will need further training, consistency, and understanding. We are looking for an experienced caregiver and a calm home without children that can provide her with a sense of security and help her find her place in the new reality. Malina needs introductory meetings to gradually get to know her future caregiver and build a relationship with them. In the right hands, Malina has the potential to grow into a wonderful, devoted companion. The description is based on observations of the dog at the animal shelter. Malina is under the care of OTOZ Animals animal shelter in Tczew. The animal shelter's registration number for Malina is 70/26. Malina is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and sterilized. This animal is not suitable for homes with children.

Malina szuka spokojnego i cierpliwego domu! Kontakt w sprawie adopcji: 58 531 96 56

About Malina

What life with Malina looks like

Malina is a small adult dog waiting at OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Malina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Malina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Malina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Malina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Malina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Malina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie early rather than rehoming privately; they know Malina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
