Malinka

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

We would like to recommend Malinka to you. She is a delicate little female dog who lived as a street dog in loneliness and insecurity. At the animal shelter, Malinka shows a lot of fear. It seems that in her previous life, the timid dog has never experienced human closeness. When the staff members enter her cage, Malinka tries to hide and observes everything with full distrust. If she can trust, it is possible to stroke Malinka and even lift her up. Then it is also possible to put a collar and harness on the dog. However, if Malinka feels overwhelmed and pressured, her fear is shown by snapping at the air. Malinka is sociable with other dogs and benefits from being together. However, the dog always looks for a safe place to escape when "danger" arises. A walk is not possible because Malinka has a panic fear of the leash. The timid dog is being trained at the animal shelter, but it will be a long way for both dog and person. We are looking for a loving home for Malinka. This should have experience with shy dogs. Your future home should be located in a rural and quiet area. A securely fenced garden is a prerequisite for accepting Malinka. The frightened dog seeks experienced people who want to give her a chance for a life without fear and stress. The dog needs socialization, integration, security, and trust. If you meet the requirements and are willing to embark on this journey with Malinka, we look forward to your inquiry. Adopting a rescue dog always means taking on a special responsibility and can also become a challenge. The dogs bring along a backpack of past experiences or unlearned situations and need time to adjust to their new life. If you have a serious interest in adopting Malinka, please contact the responsible mediator of SALVA Dog Help. We would also be very happy about the provision of an experienced foster home. The contact details are below.

About Malinka

What life with Malinka looks like

Malinka is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Malinka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Malinka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Malinka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Malinka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Malinka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Malinka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Malinka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
