Adopt Mallow (Marshmallow)

Bull Terrier · Female · 3 years

I am Mallow, and those who love me also call me Marshmallow or Cosy. Maybe someone will fall in love with me and give me a home? I am looking for a patient, dog-experienced home. I think people are great, I like to snuggle up to them, and I am easily motivated by treats. As you can see, I am totally relaxed at home and a real feline. However, I can be quite a handful when meeting other dogs outside – so it would be good if you have experience with that. With good training, I behave well, but with some male dogs, I can be quite a handful. I would say I am a raw diamond, and on my foster home, I learn a lot. For example, I have a lot of fun with training, I can concentrate well, and I am very receptive to my person. Then I even forget to pounce on other dogs. Generally, it is much better for me to be in a family environment, and I make much more progress there – the animal shelter stresses me out; I just want to be the center of my own people's attention. ❤️ I can jump with joy, pull on the leash, and pounce a lot during dog encounters – I need clear guidance and firm routines. I am not interested in hunting imitation or tug-of-war games, but I work very well for treats. I am house-trained, know the basic commands, and am very clingy. I cannot be left alone yet; my foster home is working hard with me, but we will need to continue working patiently together. An ideal home for me would be one with at least two people who can organize themselves around me and where I do not have to be alone or where we can practice that over a long-term period. I wish for active, loving, and dog-experienced people, preferably in a suburban or rural area, so I do not meet too many dogs that excite me. Maybe a farm or property with a family connection? I would love to be a solo princess; with a confident male dog, we can try it with good guidance. If you work fairly and consistently with me, you will find a really great companion in me. Please note that you need a rental permit in Berlin for me. Can I win your heart, please? If you can imagine it, please apply through the form below – I would be really grateful for a chance.

About Mallow (Marshmallow)

What life with Mallow (Marshmallow) looks like

Mallow (Marshmallow) is a medium-sized adult bull terrier dog waiting at Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg in Berlin.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Cannot be left alone, severe dog reactivity, requires extensive training and patient owners

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mallow (Marshmallow), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mallow (Marshmallow)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mallow (Marshmallow) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mallow (Marshmallow) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mallow (Marshmallow) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mallow (Marshmallow) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mallow (Marshmallow) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
