Mamisita

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Mamisita – smart, athletic heart dog seeking her happiness Mamisita is a unique dog. She has a little the face of a rough-haired dachshund, but she is too long-legged and also the body shape does not fit that. Griffon, terrier, schnauzer? Who knows who is represented in her family tree. Mamisita doesn't care, her world consists of good mood and fun. The young dog has already experienced a lot in her short life. Together with her only pup, she was surrendered to the animal shelter in Spain. While her son is now big enough not to need his mother anymore and has already traveled to his own family in Germany, Mamisita is still waiting for her chance. During the floods in Andalusia, she was allowed to leave the animal shelter and move to a loving private foster home. There she really blossomed and showed how happy she can be in a family environment. After the floods, she had to return to the animal shelter, but Mamisita was so unhappy there that her Spanish foster home took her back. Now she is once again safe and longs eagerly for her people in Germany. Mamisita is an active and athletic young dog. She loves movement, wants to explore the world and needs people who enjoy using her physically and mentally. Because Mamisita is not only full of energy, but also very smart. She learns quickly, is attentive and wants to please. With the right guidance and loving consistency, she will develop into a wonderful companion. For Mamisita we wish active people who are up for shared adventures - long walks, maybe dog sports or exciting mental challenges. Equally important to her is the closeness to her people, security and a safe place where she can finally arrive. Who will give this special young dog the home it deserves so much? Mamisita is waiting for her soul people. Here is Mamisita's video Video 2

Griffon, Terrier, Schnauzer?

About Mamisita

What life with Mamisita looks like

Mamisita is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mamisita, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mamisita?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mamisita on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mamisita if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mamisita already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mamisita isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mamisita and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
