Adopt Mancus

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 10 years

The neighborhood asked for help for a district dog who has been without an owner for several weeks in a quite small kennel. Unfortunately, the owner was hospitalized. Thanks to neighbors, he received food, but a permanent solution was needed for the poor orphaned female dog. Mancus is a 2016 born black large breed female dog. Unfortunately, the absence of the owner left deep traces on her soul and we could only gain her trust slowly. Thanks to our volunteers, walking on a leash has become one of her favorite activities. She is incredible active, curious, and a never-ending moving beauty. If there is an adoption intention, we recommend visiting her multiple times to develop a bond. We are looking for an owner who will prove to her that life is beautiful and that she is also a worthy companion for humans. We only look for a home where she can be a full family member. We hope that her angel will come, who will help her forget the lack of her previous owner and happily continue her life with an owner. Vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed, she is available for adoption. Please note that the dog is located at the NOÉ Animal Shelter's Szergegyi branch. More pictures HERE!

Kerületi kutyához kértek segítséget aki több hete gazdi nélkül élt egy elég szűk kennelben. A gazdi sajnos korházba került. Figyelem a kutya a NOÉ Állatotthon szergényi telephelyén található. About Mancus

What life with Mancus looks like

Mancus is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Requires patient owner due to trauma from previous abandonment. Needs multiple visits to build trust.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mancus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mancus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mancus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mancus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mancus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mancus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mancus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
