Manda

Mixed Breed Β· Female Β· Young Β· 2 years

Breed: Mix. Gender: Female. Date of birth: September 2024. Height: 47 cm. Weight: 23 kgIn a shelter from: November 2024 Family in the shelter: No family! Manda came to us almost two years ago. She was still just a puppy, but behind her tiny paws lay a history of trauma and a great deal of fear. With lots of patience, dedication, and gradual work, we managed to help her overcome some of her fears and begin to trust that there are people who want what is best for her and would never hurt her. Today, Manda is more relaxed. She still approaches us cautiously, but she accepts our touch and enjoys being around us. Every little step forward is a great victory for us and proof that trust can be built slowly, with patience and love. For Manda, we are looking for a special person. Someone who will understand her past, respect her boundaries, and have enough time, patience, and love to help her continue making progress. We are not looking for someone who expects her to change overnight, but someone who will give her the chance to move forward at her own pace. Someone who will show her that a home is a safe place, that human hands can be gentle, and that she never has to face her fears alone again. Manda deserves to spend the rest of her life with people who love her, want her by their side, and accept her exactly as she is.

About Manda

What life with Manda looks like

Manda is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Rescue Bosnia in Bosnia.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible β€” a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡§πŸ‡¦Adopting from Bosnia and Herzegovina

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country β€” confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Manda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Manda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Rescue Bosnia handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Manda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Manda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Animal Rescue Bosnia will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Manda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Manda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Rescue Bosnia early rather than rehoming privately; they know Manda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
