adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Mandana has found its own home! Her story: Our beloved Mandana is a real ray of sunshine and currently weighs 8 kg. She is 35 cm tall and has a playful nature. While playing, she sometimes flashes her teeth, which makes playing with children less suitable. She is almost house-trained and knows many everyday sounds. Even driving a car is no problem for her. However, she still has a bit of a fear of parked and passing cars. She loves cuddling and seeks contact with humans. It is simply wonderful to watch how Mandana gets more used to the leash and how much she enjoys her time in the garden. And just as interesting is exploring the house. She is a very intelligent puppy that needs a lot of time and attention to show how great she is. Mandana already understands "sit" and "give paw." We recommend a positively trained puppy school where she can continue to learn. Mandana is likely to grow to a medium size. Guardian or kitchen protection dog genes cannot be ruled out for Mandana. Mandana is looking for people who don't expect anything from her at first and show her how a normal dog life works. She is still a baby and has a lot to learn. One or two mishaps shouldn't be held against her, and Mandana should always be guided with a positive training style. She is looking forward to her new life with beautiful nature walks, many cuddle hours, and also a visit to the puppy school. Puppies should not be left alone as much as possible in their first year of life. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the lives of the little rascals upside down. They "forget" often everything they have learned and their ears are on high alert. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to consistently—but lovingly—train her. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Mandana is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Her EU pet passport is already at hand. Mandana was adopted with a name sponsorship by Emanuela B.! With your name sponsorship, Mandana has the chance to have a happy, well-cared-for future. As of: 23.01.

Stand: 23.01.2025

About Mandana

What life with Mandana looks like

Mandana is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mandana, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mandana?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mandana on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mandana if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mandana already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mandana isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mandana and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
