Mandy, a female dog, estimated age 1 year, 30-39 cm height, 5-9 kg weight, is looking for a home. She is very affectionate and enjoys being petted. She is also very attached to her human family and enjoys walks with them. She gets along well with her canine companion but prefers to interact with her caregivers. Mandy is very sensitive to new experiences and sometimes overwhelmed by her new environment. We suspect she is a Herdenschutzhund mix. Please read about the requirements for adopting a Herdenschutzhund. Mandy has arthritis/hip dysplasia and needs a home without stairs to avoid pain. (She will need medication for the rest of her life.) Mandy has a scar on her muzzle, a common occurrence in Romania. Many people there still believe that burning the muzzle protects dogs from diseases. The scar does not affect Mandy in any way. Mandy has a short tail, which may be congenital or the result of tail docking. Mandy is underweight. Dogs on the streets or in killing stations often receive little to no food, leading to severe weight loss. In the shelter, Mandy is receiving more food and should be back to a healthy weight soon. Mandy is slightly overweight. Some people overfeed dogs, leading to weight gain. Mandy needs to lose weight to be healthy. Due to her health and age, we are looking for a foster home for Mandy. In a foster home, veterinary costs are covered by the association and the adoption fee is waived. The dog will have a better chance of finding a home and living out its life in peace and safety. August 2022 Geschätzte Schulterhöhe: ca. 30 – 39 cm Geschätztes Gewicht: ca. 5 – 9 kg Liebevolle Hundeseele Mandy sucht ihre Menschen Diese Fellnase war ursprünglich in einem anderen Shelter untergebracht. Da dort bereits zu viele Hunde lebten, bat man uns um Hilfe. Mehr Informationen darüber, wie die Hunde ins Tierheim kommen und Antworten auf generelle Fragen findest du in unserem Tierschutz-FAQ . Mandy zeigt sich im Shelter bisher sehr menschenbezogen und freundlich. Sie genießt ihre Streicheleinheiten und fordert diese auch aktiv ein. Auch beim gemeinsamen Spaziergang orientiert sie sich stark an ihren Menschen. Mit ihrer tierischen Mitbewohnerin versteht sich Mandy sehr gut, allerdings interagiert sie lieber mit ihren Pfleger:innen. Mandy nimmt die neuen Eindrücke im Tierheim sehr stark wahr und ist manchmal noch etwas überfordert von ihrem neuen Zwinger. Wir vermuten, dass in HUNDENAME ein Herdenschutzhund (HSH) steckt. Bitte informiere dich hier über die Anforderungen bei Adoption eines Herdenschutzhundes. HSH-Mixe sind oft sehr selbstständig und brauchen eine souveräne Führung. HUNDENAME leidet an Arthrose/ Hüftdysplasie. Aus diesem Grund wird ein Zuhause ohne viele Treppen gesucht, um dem Hund schmerzen zu ersparen. (Die Fellnase wird lebenslang Medikamente benötigen.) HUNDENAME hat eine Narbe auf der Schnauze. Dies ist in Rumänien nicht unüblich. Viele Menschen glauben dort noch heute daran, dass man Hunde vor Krankheiten schützt, wenn man ihnen die Schnauze verbrennt. Die Narbe beeinträchtigt diese Fellnase jedoch keineswegs. HUNDENAME hat ein kupiertes Ohr/ zwei kupierte Ohren/ eine kupierte Rute. Vielen Hunden in Rumänien werden diese abgeschnitten, um die Tiere gefährlicher aussehen zu lassen. HUNDENAME hat eine kurze Rute. Es ist unklar ob seine/ ihre Rute kupiert oder angeboren ist. HUNDENAME ist bisher untergewichtig. Auf der Straße oder in Tötungsstationen bekommen die Tiere meist zu wenig bis gar nichts zu fressen, sodass sie stark abmagern. Im Tierheim wird unsere Fellnase jedoch wieder mit mehr Nahrung versorgt und ist hoffentlich bald wieder normalgewichtig. HUNDENAME ist etwas übergewichtig. Oft meinen es Menschen gut mit den Hunden und füttern sie über ihr gesundes Idealgewicht hinaus. Im Tierheim darf die Fellnase jedoch noch etwas abspecken, damit es schlank und rank ins neue Zuhause gehen kann. Aufgrund des gesundheitlichen Zustands und des hohen Alters suchen wir für diese Fellnase einen Gnadenplatz. Bei einem Gnadenplatz werden nach Absprache mit dem Verein höhere tierärztliche Kosten übernommen und die Schutzgebühr entfällt. Der Hund soll so eine bessere Chance auf ein Zuhause haben, um wenigstens den Rest seines Lebens in Ruhe und Sicherheit verbringen zu können. Aufgrund des gesundheitlichen Zustands dieser Fellnase entfällt bei der Adoption die Schutzgebühr. Unsere Handicap-Hunde sollen so eine bessere Chance auf ein Zuhause haben, um wenigstens den Rest ihres Lebens in Ruhe und Sicherheit verbringen zu können.
