adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Manu has found her home! Her story: May we introduce you to the sweet and beautiful Manu? Manu is a friendly, wonderful, loving, and open female dog currently waiting in her foster home in Hannover to move into her own family. Whoever gets Manu will have a 6 in the lottery 🙂 Because Manu is an absolute dream dog! Manu originally came from Bistrita, Romania. The mouse was found in a deserted area with a large abscess on her right shoulder. Of course, we couldn't just leave her to her fate and took her into our care to treat the abscess. The abscess has already been removed and everything is healing super well. Manu is now ready for her new life and is waiting for your request. Manu has a shoulder height of about 50 cm and is estimated to be around 7 years old. She gets along well with other dogs. She ignores cats. She would definitely not mind if there are other four-legged friends in her new home, from which she can observe how life in a household works. With her friendly nature, she will surely enjoy any attention and petting from her new humans. She is more of a quiet female dog, very composed, and always friendly and in good spirits. She has a sweet smile and is happy when you talk to her. When you approach her, she immediately lies on her back and shows her belly. Manu is looking for loving people who would like to cuddle and go for walks together. Attending a dog training class would also bring her a lot of fun. Manu is neutered, dewormed, treated for fleas, microchipped, and has her EU pet passport in her carrier. Stand: June 11.

Stand: 11.06.2024

About Manu

What life with Manu looks like

Manu is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Manu, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Manu?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Manu on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Manu if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Manu already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Manu isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Manu and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
