Adopt Manuela

Belgian Malinois · Female

Manuela ID-Nr: 1051847 Breed: Malinois Age: ca. 11/2022 Gender: female Height: ca. 60 cm Spayed/Neutered: Yes Location: Marbella (Spain) Inquiry Form Manuela – intelligent female dog seeks a real challenge Manuela (ca. 11.2022, ca. 60 cm) is a beautiful Belgian female German Shepherd full of energy and untapped potential. She was simply abandoned by her previous owner and came to our Spanish partner shelter Triple A with some typical behavioral issues. As she is a true working dog and was obviously not adequately challenged in the past, she initially had problems with impulse control and reacted very sensitively and excitedly in new situations. During initial dog encounters, she still tends to have negative reactions, but she has made great progress and can now interact and play with certain dogs under control. New acquaintances should still be introduced with great caution and understanding, especially during walks. We are also training Manuela to get used to traffic, as she typically reacts strongly to fast movements and passing vehicles for her breed. She is making great progress in this area as well, but still requires consistent guidance and experience. Manuela is the perfect dream dog for active dog sports or even professional assignments. She brings excellent qualities for disciplines like obedience, nose work, or tracking. She is incredibly eager to learn, highly motivated, and enjoys every task. What she needs now is continuous training, which is absolutely achievable for experienced dog owners and brings pure joy. We are looking for responsible people with thorough breed experience who are willing to continue working with her. She needs someone who can offer her stability, plenty of movement, and the right guidance. Manuela needs a job, even if it’s not in a professional setting, her alert mind must be kept busy so she can be happy and balanced. As she still requires a lot of focus and companionship in her daily life, we are looking for a place for her as a single dog. Manuela has a bright future ahead if she has the right people by her side. Manuela is vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and has an EU pet passport. For travel arrangements, she has been tested for Mediterranean diseases and dewormed and treated for fleas. About Manuela

What life with Manuela looks like

Manuela is a large adult belgian malinois dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Manuela, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Manuela?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Manuela on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Manuela if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Manuela already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Manuela isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Manuela and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
