Adopt Marcell

Mixed Breed · Male

Marcell is a male dog born in January 2020. He was roaming in Pilis when animal lovers found him, and thus came into our care. He is a tricolor terrier-type dog, with all the good and sometimes bad characteristics typical of the breed. I'll start with the positives, as there's definitely more of them, as he's a people-oriented, kind, affectionate dog. So devoted and loyal that only someone who has had a terrier dog can truly appreciate it. The negative aspect we need to mention is that Marcie is sometimes selectively deaf and follows her own little stubborn head, but although this can be annoying, it's also very endearing. He shares the apartment with two little girls whom he likes, but he would like to settle down and move into his own kennel, and it wouldn't bother him at all if he found a fixed pair, and wouldn't have to constantly worry about when the girls would leave him behind. Marcell is a lively, energetic four-legged friend who would love to go to dog school, eagerly waiting for tasks, but would also be happy with walks and outings. If you feel you would get along well, visit him on Saturday in Csévharaszt or if you want to learn more about him, call 06 20 543 5092.

About Marcell

What life with Marcell looks like

Marcell is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Luca Kutyamenedék in Hungary.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marcell, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marcell?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Luca Kutyamenedék handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marcell on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marcell if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Luca Kutyamenedék will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marcell already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marcell isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Luca Kutyamenedék early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marcell and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
