Adopt March Puppies

Cairn Terrier · Male · Puppy · 4 months

These puppies are just about ready now for their forever homes. Gideon (male), Posy (female), Vicky (female) and Cooper (male) were born mid-march last and are a cross of Cairn Terrier and Collie. Cute little balls of fluff, these puppies are adorable and are now used to being handled and cuddled. Curious and playful, they take power naps and then start their play all over again. After a rough start in life, they will now make fabulous pets. We are looking for homes where there is someone home for most of the day as puppies need lots of attention and minding. They will soon have sharp little teeth so may not be suitable for a home with a baby/toddler. The pups are microchipped : 972274001779667; 972274001779669; 972274001778087; 972274001778088, have begun their vaccinations and have received the usual preventative flea/worm treatments. It is a condition of their adoption that they be neutered when of appropriate age. The cost for same is included in the adoption fee provided the procedure is carried out at a Veterinary Practice where we hold an account. March Puppies is currently in the care of Kildare and West Wicklow SPCA

About March Puppies

What life with March Puppies looks like

March Puppies is a medium-sized puppy/kitten cairn terrier dog waiting at ISPCA in Dublin.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting March Puppies, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about March Puppies?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ISPCA handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw March Puppies on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt March Puppies if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ISPCA will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is March Puppies already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if March Puppies isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ISPCA early rather than rehoming privately; they know March Puppies and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
