Margo

Female · Senior · 15 years

Margo is a charming female cat in her prime, showing that one can still be far from old at 15 years of age. Despite her senior status, she is surprisingly playful and brings a lot of energy into the daily routine – especially to her younger roommate Kiscica, whom she often encourages to play together. When it comes to strangers, Margo is initially more cautious and prefers to observe from a safe distance. Once she has gained trust, however, it becomes clear that she is a genuine cuddle cat. Then she enjoys cuddles very much and particularly likes to snuggle up on her people’s laps. Margo lives as a house cat and is looking for a new home together with her friend Kiscica. Due to a thyroid condition, she takes her medication twice a day, which is already part of her daily routine. This cat is to be kept indoors only.

DE·Show original

About Margo

What life with Margo looks like

Margo is a senior cat waiting at Tierheim Linz in Linz.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Margo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Margo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Linz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Margo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Margo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Linz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Margo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Margo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Linz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Margo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
