adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Marinus can stay forever in his foster home! His story: Marinus could travel to his foster home and is looking for his family from there. Originally, Marinus came from Cluj, Romania. Little Marinus was discovered during a spay/neuter campaign and was brought to safety by our dear animal rescuer Mara. The owner no longer wanted him because he had bitten a pair of shoes. Therefore, the little guy spent his first few months of life on a short chain and had only a very small shelter to hide in. Marinus is about 2 years old, approximately 48 cm tall, and weighs 19 kg, and shows no health issues. He is a sweet guy, house-trained, friendly with other dogs, and a dog who feels like he's always smiling and radiating good mood. Marinus is very playful, encourages the other dogs to join in, and sometimes behaves a bit clownishly, a funny guy indeed. He walks on a leash, is very smart, and learns quickly; for food, he would do almost anything, and he gives kisses willingly. We are looking for loving people to continue training Marinus and show him the beautiful sides of dog life. He is a very smart little guy and would also be happy with a mental task. He is the perfect companion for walks, hikes, and beautiful outings and always wants to be with his family. Marinus is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated and brings his own EU pet passport. Who will fall in love with the sweet Marinus? Many thanks to K. Seebaß! Adopting the name sponsorship was the start of a new life! As of: 07.08.

Stand: 07.08.2024

About Marinus

What life with Marinus looks like

Marinus is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marinus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marinus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marinus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marinus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marinus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marinus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marinus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
