Adopt Marion

European Shorthair · Unknown · Senior · 11 years

Le sigh, Marion's health condition has worsened again, and she had to stay in the clinic for a long time. It's been up and down. Her cold was very strong again, but we managed to stabilize it so she could return to the cattery. Only her diarrhea still causes us headaches. All the tests were negative, and the various therapies have been hit or miss. When it comes to fellow animals, it seems that Marion's form and of course, her sympathy decide. We hope that people will find who can handle her (possibly chronic) symptoms. Marion came to us as a found animal, after being discovered next to a road. At first, she was very sick. She suffered from cat cold and severe diarrhea. It took a long time for her health to stabilize and for her to get vaccinated. Now, she has moved into the adoption area and has settled in well. Marion gets along well with the other cats, although she hasn't formed a close bond yet, as she is definitely the dominant one. She observes people coming into the animal shelter attentively and is happy to see visitors. She enjoys playing and shows interest in new things. For Marion, we wish for a home with a secure outdoor area. The new people should know that she may be more susceptible to cat colds, as she likely has been dealing with it for a long time. A quiet environment with understanding people would be suitable for her.

About Marion

What life with Marion looks like

Marion is a senior european shorthair cat waiting at Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn in Germany.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marion, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marion?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marion on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marion if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marion already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marion isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marion and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
