Markus is a handsome black cat with shiny fur. He usually comes up to visitors quickly, but he can be a bit cautious. He is very affectionate, rubs against your legs, and often lets you pet him on the head, but depending on his mood, he can suddenly growl and lift his paw. We can't say if he would be okay in a home without other cats. He doesn't really enjoy playtime. Markus likes to talk and complains about being in the shelter. He likes to spend time in the outdoor enclosure, so he will need outdoor access again in his new home (after a 3-week adjustment period). He doesn't need other cats for entertainment; he is generally peaceful, but you can tell he prefers not to have other pets around. We are looking for people with cat experience who don't necessarily want a cuddly cat, but will give their new pet the freedom to choose how much affection they want.

Markus ist ein bildschöner schwarzer Kater mit glänzendem Fell. Meistens kommt er auch recht schnell auf Besucher zu, allerdings ist er oft mit etwas Vorsicht zu genießen. Er tut recht schön, streicht einem um die Beine, oft lässt er sich auch ein paar Mal über den Kopf streicheln, aber je nach Tagesform kann es passieren, dass er plötzlich faucht und die Pfote hebt. Ob sich das in einem Zuhause ohne andere Katzen gibt, können wir leider nicht sagen. An Spielsessions hat er übrigens auch kaum Interesse. Markus redet gerne und klagt uns sein Leid, warum er im Tierheim eingesperrt sein muss. Er hält sich sehr gerne im Freigehege auf, braucht also im neuen Zuhause (nach der Eingewöhnungszeit von ca. 3 Wochen) auch unbedingt wieder Freigangmöglichkeit. Andere Katzen braucht er nicht zur Unterhaltung; er verhält sich zwar weitgehend friedlich, aber man merkt, dass er eigentlich lieber keine anderen Vierbeiner um sich herumhaben möchte. Für Markus suchen wir Leute mit Katzenerfahrung, die nicht unbedingt eine Schmuskatze haben wollen, sondern ihrem neuen Hausgenossen die Freiheit lassen, selbst zu entscheiden, wie viel Nähe er haben möchte.
