adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Marlin has found his people! His story: Zuckerschnute Marlin had a stroke of luck and was able to travel to his foster home. There, he is already settling in well and getting along great with the only dog. Marlin is learning new things every day and is excited to explore the world. When you look at the little Marlin, you can't help but feel a little weak. Marlin and his brother Donut were found on a cemetery. Originally, they were three, but the third puppy is missing. The other two, however, could be brought to safety by us. How they ended up on the cemetery is likely their little secret, probably abandoned there. Marlin is a bit shy, but who can blame him. The little fluffy guy with black fur, beige legs, and a sweet button nose sitting on a small white felt triangle is currently 53 cm tall and weighs around 18 kg. He is likely to grow to be medium to large, with a height of around 55-60 cm. Although he is a bit shy, he enjoys all sorts of affection. He is puppy-like in his playfulness and gets along well with his fellow animals. Marlin is looking for people who won't expect much from him and will show him how a normal dog life works. He is still a young dog and has a lot to learn. Sometimes, a little mishap shouldn't be held against him, and Marlin should always be guided with a positive training style. He is looking forward to his new life with nature walks, lots of snuggling, and also a visit to the dog training class. Puppies and young dogs should be with their people as much as possible in their first year of life. Additionally, the tumultuous pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the lives of the little rascals and their dog parents upside down. They "forget" much of what they have learned and their ears are on full blast. Therefore, it is especially important to consistently but lovingly train them during this phase. If the little Marlin has also gotten to you, feel free to send us a message. He is looking forward to your visit! Marlin is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and has his EU pet passport in his luggage. Thank you, Daniela G.! You have enabled Marlin to start a better life with your name sponsorship. As of: 31.01.

About Marlin

What life with Marlin looks like

Marlin is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marlin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marlin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marlin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marlin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marlin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marlin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marlin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
