adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Marlotta can travel directly to her final home! Her story: Marlotta is a super sweet, small female dog waiting at the Public Shelter in Baia Mare for loving people who will open their hearts to her and offer her a varied life. Unfortunately, we know nothing about her past. But since life here is particularly challenging and dangerous for small, delicate dogs, we are looking for engaged and dog-loving people to take her in and show the clever female dog how wonderful life as a house dog can be. The little mouse is only about three years old and measures approximately 33 cm. With her soft, white-and-black spotted fur, pointy ears, and light brown button eyes, she is a very pretty, small female dog. She approaches people friendly and openly and enjoys being petted and cuddled. The little female dog gets along well with other dogs. Marlotta has a practical size and fits well into any home—as long as she is loved and cared for, and her new people are ready to fully embrace her. For Marlotta surely has many wishes for her new life and looks forward to snuggling in cozy beds, nibbling on treats, and letting the wind blow through her fur. Perhaps the pretty, little female dog has never lived in a house and has never heard of housecleaning and leash walking. But if she is shown with a lovingly consistent training style what rules a well-behaved house and family dog should follow, she will certainly learn many new things and develop into a loyal companion. We would also be very happy to have a foster home for the little Marlotta. Have you fallen in love with the little magic mouse? Then contact us. Marlotta can travel to her new home neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with an EU pet passport. She will be supported with a monthly sponsorship! As of: 19.09.

About Marlotta

What life with Marlotta looks like

Marlotta is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marlotta, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marlotta?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marlotta on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marlotta if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marlotta already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marlotta isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marlotta and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
