Marshall

Mixed Breed Cat · Unknown · Adult · 8 years

Handsome Marshall is looking for a fresh start and a home where he can truly relax and thrive. Marshall originally came into our care in 2020 and has recently been returned as he was finding life in his previous home a little too stressful. Despite this setback, he remains a lovely, affectionate boy who enjoys human company and is happiest when he has all of your attention to himself. Marshall is searching for a calm and understanding home where he can be the centre of attention. To help keep his stress levels low, he would ideally like to be the only pet in the household, allowing him to enjoy a peaceful environment without having to share his space. Having previously enjoyed outdoor access, Marshall will need a home where he can continue to explore the outdoors safely once he has fully settled in. Being able to come and go and enjoy his independence is an important part of his routine. If you’re looking for a friendly, affectionate companion who will reward you with plenty of love and companionship, Marshall could be the perfect match for you. All he needs is a calm home, plenty of attention, and the chance to enjoy life at his own pace. ❤️🐾

About Marshall

What life with Marshall looks like

Marshall is a adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Thornberry Animal Sanctuary in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marshall, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marshall?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Thornberry Animal Sanctuary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marshall on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marshall if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Thornberry Animal Sanctuary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marshall already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marshall isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Thornberry Animal Sanctuary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marshall and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
