Martha, Ü12 Jahre

European Shorthair · Female · Adult · 9 years

Martha came to us as a found cat. She has a tattoo, but unfortunately, her owner could not be identified. Therefore, we are now searching for a new home for the experienced female cat. Martha loves people and is very clingy and cuddly. She enjoys company and wishes for a loving new home where she can be spoiled and spend her golden years. Martha requires permanent thyroid medication, which she takes without any problems. Additionally, she is still very fit and robust. We wish for the dear senior cat a quiet home without any other cats, possibly with older people who have plenty of time for her and can ensure the regular administration of her drops. Martha is familiar with going outdoors, but she would likely also be happy with a secured terrace or balcony. If you would like to meet Martha, please contact us via the contact form. Dein Name (Pflichtfeld) Deine E-Mail-Adresse (Pflichtfeld) Betreff Deine Nachricht

About Martha, Ü12 Jahre

What life with Martha, Ü12 Jahre looks like

Martha, Ü12 Jahre is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Tierschutzzentrum Ribbesbüttel in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Martha, Ü12 Jahre, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Martha, Ü12 Jahre?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzzentrum Ribbesbüttel handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Martha, Ü12 Jahre on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Martha, Ü12 Jahre if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzzentrum Ribbesbüttel will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Martha, Ü12 Jahre already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Martha, Ü12 Jahre isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzzentrum Ribbesbüttel early rather than rehoming privately; they know Martha, Ü12 Jahre and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
