Marv

Male · Adult · 4 years

Harry and Marv are looking for a new home due to a family member being allergic to them. In their new home they would need someone around most of the time to start with as can howl when left for longer periods. They are currently part of our HomeStay scheme; this is where he is living with his current owner while we search for a new home for him and is not currently under the care of Dogs Trust. While we do our best to ensure owners update us if there are any changes in their circumstances, unfortunately this is not always the case and owners can remove themselves from the scheme at any point. Say Hello to Marv (4yrs) & Harry (2yrs) the cheeky Lhasa cross Poodles on the look out for their forever home. They can be a little underconfident when meeting new people and may bark initially, once able to say hello they soon come out of their shell. They are both used to children aged 7yrs and above they are friendly and excitable with children. Marv & Harry can be a little underconfident when meeting new dogs and may bark initially, however once they say hello they are fine and can be at times be very playful. They have previously lived with a cat before and can do so again pending careful introductions in the home.

About Marv

What life with Marv looks like

Marv is a adult dog waiting at Dogs Trust Snetterton in Snetterton.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marv, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marv?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Snetterton handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marv on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marv if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Snetterton will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marv already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marv isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Snetterton early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marv and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
