adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Matcha has found a home! His story: Matcha – a tomcat who captivates every heart and longs for his family. Matcha was found in a hospital courtyard with his siblings. The janitor was tasked with "disposing" of them, but thankfully, he didn’t. Instead, he contacted us, and now we care for the little ones so they can have a forever home. Matcha enchants with his beautiful fur pattern, his loving nature, and especially with his sweet pink nose. Matcha is a young teenager who is very cuddly once he gets to know you. With strangers, he is initially a bit unsettled, as he still needs to learn that there will be no more people who will harm him. But once Matcha gets to know you, you will be rewarded with loving cuddle sessions and a grateful and thankful velvet paw. Matcha gets along wonderfully with other cats. He has integrated into the existing large group of cats very quickly and shows himself to be social and compatible with all. Matcha is a balanced little guy who doesn’t show himself as the biggest energy bundle. However, that could change once he moves into his forever home 🙂 We wish for Matcha a home where he doesn’t have to live as a lone prince. He would be happy to take one of his friends or a friend along on his journey if no velvet paw is waiting for him at your place. We can only place Matcha as a pure indoor cat, although he would certainly be fine with a secure balcony. Matcha is ready to take his travel arrangements and is then neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. He also has an EU pet passport and hopes for a quick request from his heart’s desire! Many thanks to Maria B.! You gave Matcha his awesome name! Date: 05.07.

Vielen Dank Maria B.! Du hast Matcha seinen tollen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 05.07.2024

About Matcha

What life with Matcha looks like

Matcha is a large young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Matcha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Matcha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Matcha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Matcha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Matcha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Matcha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Matcha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
