Ο γλυκός μας Μάθιου ήρθε στον κόσμο τον Μάιο του 2024. Η ζωή του ξεκίνησε ως ένα μικρό, αδέσποτο κουταβάκι, σε ένα ορεινό χωριό μία ώρα από το Λουτράκι. Η αθώα πορεία του ανατράπηκε όταν το αυτοκίνητο του ιδιοκτήτη ενός αμπελιού τον χτύπησε κατά λάθος, σπάζοντας το μικροσκοπικό του ποδαράκι. Παρά τη γρήγορη μεταφορά του στον κτηνίατρο για χειρουργική επέμβαση, η κακή μεταχειρουργική φροντίδα (τον άφησαν μόνο του και του επέτρεψαν να περπατήσει πολύ νωρίς) είχε ως αποτέλεσμα το ποδαράκι του να σπάσει ξανά, αυτή τη φορά σε πολλαπλά σημεία. Ο κτηνίατρος μας ανέλαβε άμεσα την δύσκολη αυτή περίπτωση, και πραγματοποίησε μια δεύτερη χειρουργική επέμβαση με μεταλλικές λάμες και βίδες, για να σώσει το ποδαράκι του. Μετά από εβδομάδες ανάρρωσης στο κτηνιατρείο, ο Μάθιου δεν γύρισε ποτέ στον τόπο που γεννήθηκε ως αδέσποτος. Έμεινε κοντά μας και βρήκε καταφύγιο στην αγκαλιά μας, όπου μπόρεσε να αναρρώσει με την ηρεμία και την αγάπη που τόσο είχε ανάγκη! O Μάθιου είναι γεμάτος χαρά και ζωντάνια. Τρελαίνεται για την συντροφιά των ανθρώπων και των άλλων σκύλων, και η παρουσία του φέρνει φως και χαμόγελα σε όποιον τον γνωρίζει. Αν και το ποδαράκι του δεν θεραπεύτηκε πλήρως, το χρησιμοποιεί σαν μπαστούνι και κινείται με εκπληκτική χάρη πάνω στα τρία του γερά ποδαράκια. Είναι υγιής, στειρωμένος, με άψογες ιατρικές εξετάσεις και ζυγίζει 27 κιλά. Οι δυσκολίες, δεν έχουν αλλοιώσει το φως της ψυχής του. Αντίθετα, το έχουν κάνει να λάμπει ακόμα πιο δυνατά. Γεμάτος αγάπη, είναι έτοιμος να βρει την οικογένεια που θα τον αποδεχτεί όπως είναι και θα εκτιμήσει το γενναίο του πνεύμα και την τρυφερή του καρδιά.
