Adopt Mati

Mixed Breed · Male

Mati - a young, larger-sized boy who is still learning in the animal shelter whether he truly is someone's dog, and what it means to interact with humans. At around 1.5 years old, weighing 15 kg and standing 45 cm. Mati has energy, joy, and curiosity about the world - all that a healthy, young dog should have. Unfortunately, he hasn't been taught the basics of calm functioning. He still has a bit of fear of the new or unknown, but quickly overcomes his worries and then reveals himself as a sweet, young pup. This is a very wise and perceptive dog - daily walks with us yield the desired effect and joy in keeping Mati. He learns quickly! This is a dog who thinks, observes, and really wants to understand humans. He loves movement, play, and affectionate gestures. At the same time, he can quiet down, focus on his caregiver, and rest in his embrace. He fits in well with other dogs, but prefers those that are more calm and not pushy, as he is that way himself. Cats do not interest him. Mati deserves more than just a home. We are looking for a responsible person – a friend who will love him forever and show him how beautiful it can be to live by his human's side. Who will give him a chance? He will repay you with boundless love.

Mati- młody, większych rozmiarów chłopak, który dopiero w schronisku uczy się, czy naprawdę jest bycie czyimś psem, czym jest kontakt z człowiekiem. W wieku około 1,5 roku, wagowo 15 kg i 45 cm. Mati ma w sobie energię, radość i ciekawość świata- czyli to wszystko co powinien mieć zdrowy, młody pies. Niestety nie nauczono go podstaw spokojnego funkcjonowania. Koty go nie interesują. On odwdzięczy się bezgraniczną miłością.

About Mati

What life with Mati looks like

Mati is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Wesoly Kundelek in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mati, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mati?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Wesoly Kundelek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mati on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mati if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Wesoly Kundelek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mati already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mati isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Wesoly Kundelek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mati and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
