Matilda & Jacky – In Foster – South-west & Wales

English Bulldog · Female

Please welcome and back into the loving arms of GBSR. Sadly, both dogs have been surrendered following a relationship breakdown. It is an incredibly difficult situation, but we are grateful that we could be there for them when they needed us most. Beautiful Matilda was adopted from GBSR just under two years ago. She is now four years old, spayed and has the loveliest nature. She is an incredibly playful girl with so much love to give. Her younger brother, Jacky, is a curious and caring two-year-old neutered boy. He absolutely loves affection and enjoys nothing more than playing with his big sister. Matilda and Jacky have lived together for the past year and have formed a very special bond. We did not want them to experience the additional upset of being separated, so it was incredibly important to us that we found a foster home where they could remain together. We already know that Jacky is likely to require BOAS surgery in the near future. Both dogs will be visiting the vets very soon for full health checks, allowing us to assess their needs and ensure they receive any treatment required. This is exactly why we provide rescue back-up for life. We understand that circumstances can change, but our commitment to our dogs never will. Every GBSR dog will always have a safe place to return to. Matilda and Jacky are now settling into foster care in the South West with the lovely Tara and her family. Welcome to your first fostering journey with us, Tara. We are so excited to have you on board and incredibly grateful to you and your family for opening your home and hearts to this beautiful pair, and for allowing them to remain together. Please do not apply for Matilda or Jacky at this stage. They are not currently available for adoption and will not be considered for rehoming until they have completed their full foster assessments. We will share an update if and when they become available. Welcome back, beautiful babies. You are safe, and you are together, with us. About Matilda & Jacky – In Foster – South-west & Wales

What life with Matilda & Jacky – In Foster – South-west & Wales looks like

Matilda & Jacky – In Foster – South-west & Wales is a large adult english bulldog dog waiting at Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Matilda & Jacky – In Foster – South-west & Wales, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Matilda & Jacky – In Foster – South-west & Wales?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Matilda & Jacky – In Foster – South-west & Wales on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Matilda & Jacky – In Foster – South-west & Wales if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Matilda & Jacky – In Foster – South-west & Wales already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Matilda & Jacky – In Foster – South-west & Wales isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Matilda & Jacky – In Foster – South-west & Wales and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
