We visited the LIDA shelter during our project tour in late August/early September 2026, where we were already expected. There were some new arrivals that we wanted to meet. Among these new arrivals was this young dog. Maurizio, as he was called, was picked up when he was wandering aimlessly and completely alone in Olbia - and was always in danger of something happening to him in the city's heavy traffic. Fortunately, the little one was caught and brought to the LIDA shelter, where he was then safe. Maurizio presented himself to us as a somewhat shy, but very sweet, friendly little fellow. And we naturally hope for the dog boy that the shelter will only be a short stopover in his life. Because - despite all the good care - personal attention and individual support are missing. There are simply too many animals to take care of daily, so there is no time for more than a quick pat. A family environment is therefore immensely important for good development. That's why we wish for Maurizio that he can soon start his journey to Germany. Would you like to accompany the lovable dog on his way to a good future as a foster home? Während unserer Projekttour Ende August/Anfang September 2026 besuchten wir auch das Rifugio der LIDA, wo wir schon erwartet wurden. Denn es gab einige Neuzugänge, die wir kennenlernen sollten.Zu diesen Neuzugängen gehörte auch dieser junge Hund. Maurizio, wie man ihn genannt hatte, war aufgegriffen worden, als er ziellos und ganz allein in Olbia unterwegs war - und dabei immer in der Gefahr, dass ihm bei dem starken Verkehr in der Stadt etwas zustoßen könnte.Glücklicherweise wurde der Kleine eingefangen und zum Rifugio der LIDA gebracht, wo er dann in Sicherheit war.Maurizio zeigte sich uns gegenüber als etwas schüchternes, aber sehr liebes, freundliches Kerlchen. Und wir hoffen natürlich für den Hundebub, dass das Rifugio nur eine kurze Zwischenstation in seinem Leben sein wird. Denn - bei aller guten Versorgung - bleiben die persönliche Zuwendung und individuelle Förderung auf der Strecke. Es sind einfach zu viele Tiere, um die sich täglich gekümmert werden muss, da ist mehr als ein kurzer Streichler zwischendurch nicht drin. Ein familiäres Umfeld ist daher immens wichtig für eine gute Entwicklung. Deshalb wünschen wir uns für Maurizio, dass er bald seine Reise nach Deutschland antreten darf.
