Max &#038

European Shorthair · Unknown · Senior · 16 years

Max (16 years) and Leo (11 years) came to us at our shelter together with Tommy and Lillie. Since it is unfortunately very difficult to place four cats together, we are now searching for a home for the two of them where they can spend their next life phase. Unlike their more reserved companions, Max and Leo are exceptionally open and people-oriented. As soon as their caretakers pass by their room, the two are usually already eagerly standing by the door, hoping for a visit. They don’t like missing out on cuddle sessions and enjoy every bit of attention they can get. The two are loving and uncomplicated companions who quickly win the hearts of their people. Physically, they are in good health and are completely uncomplicated when it comes to food. For Max and Leo, we wish for a loving home where they can stay together and continue to enjoy the closeness of their people. Since they have spent their previous life as outdoor cats, they also want to be able to explore their surroundings and enjoy the fresh air in the future. Do you think you are the right person for Max and Leo, or would you like to get to know them better?

About Max &#038

What life with Max &#038 looks like

Max &#038 is a senior european shorthair cat waiting at Tierschutzverein für Tirol in Innsbruck.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Max &#038, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Max &#038?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein für Tirol handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Max &#038 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Max &#038 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein für Tirol will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Max &#038 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Max &#038 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein für Tirol early rather than rehoming privately; they know Max &#038 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
