Max

Mixed Breed · Male

Name: Max Date of birth: Size: large Max is a dog with an interesting and distinctive personality. He tends to keep his distance from new people—may bark and growl—but appearances can be deceiving. Just a few shared walks and a little bit of time are all it takes for Max to show how wonderful a companion he can be. He walks nicely on a leash, loves long walks, and enjoys adventures together. Once he trusts someone, he’s happy to be petted—and will even seek out affection on his own. Max does have his boundaries, though. He guards his resources carefully, and if he wants to go in a different direction than his handler during a walk, he might growl. He won’t do anything more than that, but the future owner needs to take this into account, respect his communication, and work with him calmly and consistently. Max gets along well with other dogs. We’re looking for a home for him without children—preferably with a patient and mindful person who’ll give him the time he needs to build a bond. In return, Max can become a devoted companion for many exciting outings together.

Imię: Max Data urodzenia: Wielkość: duża Max to pies o interesującym, wyrazistym charakterze.

About Max

What life with Max looks like

Max is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja SOS dla Zwierząt in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Max, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Max?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja SOS dla Zwierząt handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Max on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Max if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja SOS dla Zwierząt will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Max already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Max isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja SOS dla Zwierząt early rather than rehoming privately; they know Max and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
