Max

Mixed Breed · Male

We have been taking care of Max for almost a year now, as the owner had to leave him with us with a heavy heart. It was an unfortunate situation, but the details don't really matter - what matters is that Max should be back in a family as soon as possible. The separation from his owner was hard, and now he has to face a similar situation again. The biggest support for Max was our dog Jessey, who found a new home two weeks ago. Of course, we were very happy that Jessey finally found safety, but Max's heartbreaking crying after being left alone in the kennel even made Jessey's new owner cry. For a long time, we were thinking about taking in both of them, but after assessing the situation, he responsibly decided that he could safely take in one dog. When we see the sadness in Max's brown eyes, we think we won't rest until we see him also with a shining eye by his new owner's side, jumping into the car. Saturday could be a great opportunity to get to know this funny-looking little guy, if you feel there is something in common between you.

Pest megye, Csévharaszt06 20 543 5092

About Max

What life with Max looks like

Max is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Luca Kutyamenedék in Hungary.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Max, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Max?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Luca Kutyamenedék handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Max on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Max if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Luca Kutyamenedék will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Max already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Max isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Luca Kutyamenedék early rather than rehoming privately; they know Max and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
