Max

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Max, a spayed, vaccinated, chipped approximately 3-year-old large-sized male dog. We rescued him from a shelter where his life was in danger. He had been living on the streets for a long time, trying to approach people, but no one helped him. We rescued him to give him a chance to find a family. Due to his sad fate, he is very attached to humans. He is a very loyal and people-centric companion. He has not experienced much of the outside world so far, and due to his large size, he has not yet been able to find a loving owner. His relationship with dogs is good, and he currently lives with several dogs and is constantly interacting with new dogs. He is not a barker, only when he has a reason, he is an active dog, he does not have a high exercise need, but he likes to play, run around, and also likes to relax in the yard. He also wants a home, so he can have his own loving family. He is perfect for both yard and indoor keeping. He can also be a good house guard. He can be adopted with a contract and a check. Please support our work so we can help more orphans!

About Max

What life with Max looks like

Max is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Csupaszív Állatmentő Alapítvány in Hungary.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Max, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Max?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Csupaszív Állatmentő Alapítvány handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Max on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Max if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Csupaszív Állatmentő Alapítvány will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Max already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Max isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Csupaszív Állatmentő Alapítvány early rather than rehoming privately; they know Max and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
