Maya

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

Maya, just under 5 years old, weighing 10 kg, is up for adoption. Maya is a 10 kg little dog whose estimated birth date is January 1, 2021, who has experienced the worst in Réunion, like many others. It will take some time for her to settle into her new family. Once she does, it will be nothing but happiness with this sweet little dog who has so much love to give. Currently, she is in a foster home with other canine companions. Ideally, she would be with a couple of young retirees looking for a little dog to share many beautiful things and, above all, a great companionship and lots of love, and long walks. But she could also be in another family context. Another dog is possible, Maya is in contact with several male and female dogs. However, Maya does not like cats; no one is perfect! Maya is microchipped, vaccinated, and spayed, and the adoption fee is 300 €. N.B.: Maya is atopic (allergic). She must eat only hypoallergenic food and take one pill daily (monthly cost 57 €). Would you like to give Maya a chance? Contact me at (Dominique). In some cases, a Long-Term Foster Home (at the expense of the association) can be considered.

About Maya

What life with Maya looks like

Maya is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at 30 Millions d'Amis in Paris.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Likely rescued from mistreatment or abandonment situation

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Maya, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Maya?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. 30 Millions d'Amis handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Maya on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Maya if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — 30 Millions d'Amis will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Maya already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Maya isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with 30 Millions d'Amis early rather than rehoming privately; they know Maya and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
