At the end of July 2026, Maya sadly became the responsibility of our animal welfare advocate, Rodica. A family was captured on surveillance camera wandering around with their dog in front of the shelter’s property. When Rodica approached them and asked if they needed help, she received a heartbreaking reply: They no longer wanted Maya. If Rodica didn’t take the dog in, they would take her to the euthanasia center just a few hundred meters away. It was immediately clear to Rodica that she couldn’t leave Maya to such a fate. She took the dog into her care, giving her the chance for a fresh start. Maya appears well-groomed and well-nourished, suggesting that she had previously lived in a home. Yet, the sudden change seems all the more difficult for her to bear. You can tell she’s completely overwhelmed by the situation. She doesn’t understand why she lost her home and now finds herself at the shelter. Now, from the bottom of our hearts, we hope that Maya will soon be able to turn the page on this chapter of her life. We wish her to find people who will never let her down again and who will give her the love, security, and comfort she so desperately deserves.

Maya kam Ende Juli 2026 auf traurige Weise zu unserer Tierschützerin Rodica. Eine Familie wurde von der Überwachungskamera dabei erfasst, wie sie mit ihrer Hündin vor dem Grundstück des Shelters umherirrte. Als Rodica die Menschen ansprach und fragte, ob sie Hilfe benötigten, erhielt sie eine erschütternde Antwort: Sie wollten Maya nicht mehr. Sollte Rodica die Hündin nicht aufnehmen, würden sie sie in die nur wenige hundert Meter entfernte Tötungsstation bringen. Für Rodica stand sofort fest, dass sie Maya nicht diesem Schicksal überlassen konnte. Sie nahm die Hündin bei sich auf und schenkte ihr damit die Chance auf einen Neuanfang. Maya macht einen gepflegten und gut genährten Eindruck, was darauf schliessen lässt, dass sie bislang in einem Zuhause gelebt hat. Umso schwerer scheint ihr die plötzliche Veränderung zu fallen. Man sieht ihr an, dass sie mit der Situation völlig überfordert ist. Sie versteht nicht, warum sie ihr Zuhause verloren hat und sich nun im Shelter wiederfindet. Nun wünschen wir uns von Herzen, dass Maya dieses Kapitel schon bald hinter sich lassen darf. Sie soll Menschen finden, die sie nie wieder im Stich lassen und ihr die Liebe, Sicherheit und Geborgenheit schenken, die sie so sehr verdient.
