Adopt Maya

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Kitten · 2 months

MAYA – a beautiful little girl with the soul of an adventurer. Slightly more cautious than her twin brother Zack, but always ready for mischief and fun. She loves playing with absolutely anything and is both sweet and affectionate. These 5 siblings were found in a holiday apartment when they were only around 2 weeks old and sadly needed to be removed from the property. Thankfully, their mum had already done an amazing job caring for them during those first crucial weeks. They are now safe in a loving foster home, where they have been bottle-fed and cared for with lots of love. They are growing beautifully, eating solid food, and starting to show their sweet little personalities. But most importantly, they all absolutely adore human company. They purr like little diesel engines and love cuddles and attention. In short… they are simply perfect and are now urgently looking for forever homes 💛

About Maya

What life with Maya looks like

Maya is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed cat cat waiting at PAWS-PATAS Animal Shelter in Spain.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Maya, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Maya?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. PAWS-PATAS Animal Shelter handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Maya on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Maya if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — PAWS-PATAS Animal Shelter will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Maya already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Maya isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with PAWS-PATAS Animal Shelter early rather than rehoming privately; they know Maya and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
