McLaren

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

McLaren is a social cat who enjoys being close to you but also values some alone time. I'd love to curl up next to you on the couch while you watch TV and I'm happy to cuddle up. I'll let you know if I need a break in a quiet way. I'm curious and enjoy having space to explore, and I love lounging in a sunny window where I can daydream. When evening comes, I get playful and enjoy playing with you. If you leave your bedroom door open at night, I'll come in to say goodnight and good morning on your bed. Maybe you'll give me my forever home? 🐈 PS: I have something called FIV. It doesn't bother me, but it means I can't roam outside anymore. FIV can be transmitted to other cats if we get into a fight and bite each other deeply. FIV doesn't affect humans or animals other than cats, so there's no need to worry. Cats with FIV can live long and normal lives without symptoms, but should - like all cats - be regularly monitored by a veterinarian. If you're unsure about what FIV is and what it entails, the people at Hjerte for hjemløse katter would be happy to explain more in a casual conversation. McLaren is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and has had a full health check and deworming.

«Hei!

About McLaren

What life with McLaren looks like

McLaren is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter in Trollåsen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇴Adopting from Norway

Norwegian rescues require thorough background checks. Animals leave with a Nordic pet passport and full vetting. Norway is outside the EU so import rules differ slightly — TRACES applies.

Frequently asked

Adopting McLaren, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about McLaren?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw McLaren on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt McLaren if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is McLaren already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if McLaren isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter early rather than rehoming privately; they know McLaren and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NB). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
