adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Meddy has found her home! Her story: Meddy has been in the foster home since mid-December 2025 and has already learned so much! Meddy is currently developing into a wonderful young female dog. She weighs around 13 kg and has a shoulder height of 44 cm. At about 7 months old, she is incredibly friendly and immediately includes everyone in her doggy heart. She also gets along excellently with the cat living in the house. Wagging her tail and with curiosity, Meddy is open and happy when she learns and gets attention. Meddy already walks calmly on a leash and orientates herself with attentive eye contact to her people. She trusted the new family from the start. At home, Meddy shows how much power she has. It is assumed that she brings some hound-like qualities. The energy bundle loves to run around extensively in the garden and alerts to outside noises through barking. Some training is still needed here. Meddy will be a great fit in an active family that keeps her busy and occupied, because Meddy has fun with life and is on the way to puberty. During this time, the little dog’s head, as is well-known, does not always do what we imagine, and loving consequences are required. Currently, Meddy can stay alone at home for up to 3 hours. The joy of seeing each other is always enormous, as she loves her trusted people and every minute she spends with them. Meddy is almost house-trained, though small mishaps still occur when life around her is simply too interesting. Meddy accompanies her foster parents on restaurant visits and lies very relaxed on her blanket. She masters the basic commands and has, for example, learned with the command "OKAY!" that the food is not for snacking but for enjoying. Currently, Meddy is so willing to do everything right that she doesn’t even start eating without this command. The snacking has turned into a healthy and proper eating habit. Who is looking for a fresh and cheerful companion who wants to have fun with life and enjoy learning and playing together, and who brings deep trust that will make the shared family life something very special? Meddy brings all of this and only has one wish: to stay forever. For an adoption fee of 500 Euros, she can become a well-groomed part of your life and bring her EU pet passport with her. A big thank you goes to Andrè and Insa. You gave Meddy a sweet name and thus an identity and the chance for a dignified, loved dog life. A big thank you also goes to Ulrike W., who took on a monthly sponsorship for Meddy. As of: 20.02. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 20.02.2026

About Meddy

What life with Meddy looks like

Meddy is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Meddy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Meddy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Meddy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Meddy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Meddy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Meddy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Meddy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
