adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Megan has found its home! Her story: 26810 Westoverledingen. Megan, King Otto, Choco, and Adelheid are four puppy siblings who can't wait to find their new heart parents. Does someone have a warm and cozy dog bed that the little ones can move into? Megan is the smallest and most delicate from her litter. The pretty little pup is 4 months old and wiggles her white-and-black-striped fur into the hearts of all the helpers! The little Megan is very people-oriented and looks forward to every cuddle or play session she can get. When you visit her, her joy is huge and her excitement is great. In her foster home, she has settled in well and gets along well with all the two- and four-legged friends. All the ponies, cats, dogs, chickens, and company are among her best friends. The riding students play with her all the time and Megan has a lot of fun. Megan wishes for people who don't have any expectations of her. The little mouse is motivated to learn about the big, new world, but has known nothing so far. Therefore, she must be introduced to the puppy class slowly, patiently, and most importantly, with sensitivity. Megan will likely remain a small size. Megan is also approaching puberty, a time when hormones can ride a rollercoaster and the young dogs have wild ideas. During this time, it is important to offer the teenage dogs a consistent but loving guidance. We strongly recommend attending puppy or dog training classes that work with positive reinforcement. After a positive assessment, she will be microchipped, dewormed, and given an EU pet passport. Has Megan managed to make your heart beat a little faster? We look forward to your inquiry! Many thanks Anne L.! You have given Megan her name!

Vielen Dank Anne L.! Du hast Megan ihren Namen geschenkt!

About Megan

What life with Megan looks like

Megan is a extra-large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Megan, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Megan?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Megan on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Megan if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Megan already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Megan isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Megan and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
