Adopt Mégara

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Currently up for adoption ❤Mégara, Female, X Berger, born on 15/01/2026. Identified: number 250 26 96 11 77 21 73 (Not LOF) Hi, I'm Mégara. I will weigh between 20 and 25kg when I'm fully grown. My story began in a place where a puppy should never end up: hidden at the back of a pipe, terrified, hungry and unable to let anyone approach me. But one day, my auntie and her colleagues saw me. They came back, again and again, with kindness and a little food. So gradually, I began to believe that maybe, the world wasn't so dangerous! When I finally agreed to come out of my hiding place, my new life began. And it was the best decision of my life! 😍 At my auntie's, I am an energetic little adventurer, but not uncontrollable. I play, I run, I discover everything, I am amazed by everything... but I also know how to settle down, snuggle and ask for cuddles.

About Mégara

What life with Mégara looks like

Mégara is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Les Truffes du Soleil in France.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mégara, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mégara?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Les Truffes du Soleil handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mégara on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mégara if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Les Truffes du Soleil will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mégara already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mégara isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Les Truffes du Soleil early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mégara and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
