adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Meggie has found her home! Her story: One can say that the little Meggie had a dramatic start in life. Her mother Little Bit was abandoned on a cemetery, where she gave birth to Meggie and her four siblings. On the same day, there were severe floods, and the brave mother moved her puppies one by one under a pile of wood for safety. And as fate would have it, that pile of wood was from a helper's sister. With the help of Tina, her husband, and her sister, the new family was safely brought to a new home. The sweet Meggie is a charming little puppy who wins everyone over with her small finger. With her fluffy fur and cute button eyes, no heart can remain untouched. Of course, she is still at the very beginning of her young life and has much to learn. And if she could do that with her future family, it would be the greatest gift. Anyone considering taking a puppy into their home should be aware of the responsibility beforehand. Puppies must first learn the world and its rules. In the future, a visit to a positively working dog training class could also be a great enrichment. Although Meggie is safe with her mother and siblings, a foster home in Romania cannot be compared to a foster home in Germany. For there, the dogs mostly live outdoors, and the winter gets cold. Therefore, Meggie would also be happy about a foster home. Meggie travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas and has a valid EU pet passport. After a positive Meggie has already captured your heart? Then contact us very much. Many thanks to the namesake Natalie P.! Thanks to you, Meggie has an identity and thus the chance for a happy life. Status: 05.12.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Dann kontaktiere uns sehr gerne. Stand: 05.12.2025

About Meggie

What life with Meggie looks like

Meggie is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Meggie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Meggie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Meggie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Meggie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Meggie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Meggie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Meggie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
