Meki

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 8 years

Meki is an approximately 8-year-old spayed mixed-breed female dog who immediately wins hearts with her charming nature. The manageable dog is about 30 cm tall, weighs around 13 kg and is in good health despite her age. Fit, lively and full of love, she is waiting to finally experience the sunny side of life. Meki was found alone on the street. Although she had a chip, it was not registered, and unfortunately, no one inquired about her. Despite this sad experience, she has retained her friendly, open and people-oriented nature. She enjoys the closeness of her humans and is happy about every attention and affection. Meki lives on her foster home with a female dog and two cats without any problems. She is compatible with all her species and also approaches cats in a friendly and calm manner. Nice children are also no problem for the uncomplicated dog lady. Due to her balanced and pleasant character, we can also imagine her very well with people with little dog experience. She would also be a wonderful companion for active seniors who enjoy joint walks and want to give a loving home to a faithful companion. Meki already walks quite well on a leash, is house trained and shows herself as a pleasant and uncomplicated companion in everyday life. She also masters car trips calmly and relaxed, so she can accompany her people to trips or vacations without any problems. After a reasonable adjustment period, she will certainly be able to stay alone for a certain time. She is an uncomplicated, grateful dog who does not make big demands - a warm bed, loving people, regular petting and time together are all she wants. Meki is not looking for action, but a home where she can arrive and be loved as a full member of the family. Whoever wants to give a loving dog a second chance will find in Meki a faithful, gentle and kind companion who will enrich her new home with lots of love. With her friendly nature, her compatibility and her uncomplicated nature, she is a dog who will put a smile on her human's face every day. 🟢Interested? Please fill out our self-assessment

🟢Interesse? About Meki

What life with Meki looks like

Meki is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Meki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Meki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Meki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Meki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Meki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Meki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Meki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
