animal rescuer: Virginia Georgieva born ca: 2022 Gender: female Location: Bulgaria Spayed: yes FIV Test: negative FeLV Test: negative Disabilities: no compatible with: children: not known Cats: yes Dogs: not known Requirements: NO single housing, only suitable for apartment living, NO leash walking Balcony or terrace preferred (if available, safety measures are required) Meline comes from a place where she never really received the care she needed. She lived with several other cats with an older woman who simply wasn't capable of taking care of the many cats. Virginia is now trying to help step by step and rescue the cats there. But it's not easy. The woman keeps putting up obstacles. It takes a lot of patience, understanding, and finesse to still give the animals a chance. Meline is one of those who have already succeeded. Meline is a loving, social velvet paw that needed some time to get used to the new situation at the animal shelter. Now, however, she shows more and more of her friendly and open nature. She enjoys the attention and cuddles from Virginia very much and clearly delights in every affectionate gesture. She gets along wonderfully with other cats. She is peaceful, uncomplicated, and moves naturally in the group. When she feels secure, it becomes clear how much warmth and gentleness are in her. For our wonderful Meline, we wish for a loving home where she can arrive and feel what true security means. Milene is a roundly loving velvet paw. At the animal shelter, she already shows what potential is in her: Once she has gained trust, her gentle, cuddly side comes to the fore, and she enjoys the closeness very much. With affection and love, she will surely become a faithful companion in her new home as well.

About Meline

What life with Meline looks like

Meline is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Meline, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Meline?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Meline on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Meline if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Meline already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Meline isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein early rather than rehoming privately; they know Meline and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
