Merlin
Chihuahua · Male · Senior · 16 years
Merlin is a small Chihuahua mix who has been through hell. He was seized along with 12 other dogs from a home where the animals had been left to fend for themselves, living in filth and excrement and forced to fight just to get food. When he first arrived, Merlin was deeply traumatized and extremely fearful. He would bite whenever anyone approached him. Over the months—and even years—of dedicated work, Merlin gradually learned to trust us. Today, he allows us to clean his room, and sometimes he’ll even tolerate a gentle petting.
