MERLIN

Dogo Argentino · Male · Senior · 10 years

Merlin is a beautiful Dogo Argentino (we're not sure if he has a mix), a male castrated dog around 4 years old. We have had him for about a year, so we know him quite well. He is a friendly and attentive dog, rather calm and balanced. He loves cuddles and going for walks, especially he enjoys bathing and swimming. Merlin is affectionate and good with people, we have never observed any strange or unpleasant reactions towards us. With other dogs, he usually has no problems if they know each other beforehand. However, living alone in a cage, we don't know how he would be with other dogs. We imagine he could get along with a good and balanced female dog. We hope someone will notice this handsome and friendly dog and adopt him... because life in a cage for so long is very stressful. Currently, Merlin lives in the province of Barcelona and is looking for adopters who are residents in Catalonia, who have a license for PPPs. Responsible people who want to love him and have him as a family member.

About MERLIN

What life with MERLIN looks like

MERLIN is a senior dogo argentino dog waiting at Animals Sense Sostre in Spain.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee. Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting MERLIN, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about MERLIN?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animals Sense Sostre handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw MERLIN on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt MERLIN if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animals Sense Sostre will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is MERLIN already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if MERLIN isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animals Sense Sostre early rather than rehoming privately; they know MERLIN and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
