MERLIN

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 11 years

Merlin - urgently needs a home in his old age! - Male, 11 years old, born circa 2014-2015, SH 40 cm, vaccinated, chipped, neutered, EU passport. - Ready to travel in Greece! - Merlin is an approximately 11-year-old male dog. He was found with his tail cut off and a large infection at the wound on a pigsty in a plantation. The dog was tied up with a rope that had already cut into his neck. Merlin was freed from there, nursed back to health, and lives with 3 other dogs on a property. A friend of animals takes care of these dogs. Merlin is a sweet little cuddly dog. He loves petting and attention. He plays ball, can do sit, stay, heel, walks wonderfully on the leash and likes to ride in the car. He urgently needs a home. However, he should not be with very young children as they unsettle him greatly. He is also very cautious around men due to his bad experience, but if he realizes you won't hurt him, he melts. Who would like to give Merlin beautiful years and make him forget his old life? Info and contact: Barbara Koch - Tel.: email:

MERLIN - sucht dringend auf seine alten Tage ein Zuhause ! - Rüde, 11 J., geb.ca.2014-2015, SH 40 cm, geimpft, gechippt, kastriert, EU-Paß. - Wartet reisefertig in Griechenland ! Info u. Kontakt: Barbara Koch - Tel.: email: -

About MERLIN

What life with MERLIN looks like

MERLIN is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Tier-Not-Hilfe in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting MERLIN, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about MERLIN?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tier-Not-Hilfe handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw MERLIN on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt MERLIN if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tier-Not-Hilfe will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is MERLIN already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if MERLIN isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tier-Not-Hilfe early rather than rehoming privately; they know MERLIN and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
