Adopt Mia – available

Mixed Breed · Female

We are currently looking for an outside home for this spoiled girl Mia. Mia would struggle to live with people who have traditional expectations of her behaviour. Mia is an independent cat who can be affectionate at times but becomes stressed when forced into close proximity with people. However, Mia does enjoy following her people around, keeping a close eye out for any food on offer. Potential homes for Mia could include a rural property with outbuildings, garden centres, smallholdings or stables. She may choose to become more involved in human life over time, but she shouldn’t be expected to behave like a typical pet cat and will need a more hands-off, understanding approach. Offering one of these special cats the right environment gives them the chance to thrive in a setting that suits them. Watching them roam freely, stretch out in the sunshine, and explore on their own terms is incredibly rewarding.

About Mia – available

What life with Mia – available looks like

Mia – available is a medium-sized adult mixed breed cat waiting at Wadars Animal Rescue in Worthing.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Note from the shelter: Needs outdoor/semi-feral home environment, not suitable as traditional indoor pet

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mia – available, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mia – available?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Wadars Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mia – available on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mia – available if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Wadars Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mia – available already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mia – available isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Wadars Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mia – available and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
