Mia is a beautiful puppy girl who resembles a seal pup with her thick, light coat and black round eyes. Like so many Romanian dogs, Mia came to us without a story. But her past no longer matters for the lovely puppy - only her future counts now. Currently, Mia is staying in a Romanian foster home, but that should naturally be just a temporary stage in her life. Therefore, we want to give Mia a chance for a new, better life with animal-friendly people who will stay by her side and show her how beautiful it is to be a pet dog. Mia will probably grow into a strong and large female dog. She has soft, white-blonde fur, an irresistible look, and small, funny ears. With the alert gaze and shiny black nose, she is a real pretty puppy. She is about four months old and has her whole life ahead of her. We very much hope that Mia does not have to spend time in a Romanian shelter behind bars. Right now, Mia is simply a particularly sweet puppy, from which not much can yet be expected. It is to be assumed that leash training and housebreaking are as unknown to her as the behavior rules in the house. However, we hope that the intelligent female dog will quickly learn the basics of puppyhood if one works on her education with lots of loving consistency. Mia was bitten by another dog in an incident. Therefore, she was treated medically, and the wound on her head is already healing. Also, the demanding phase of puberty is soon approaching for Mia and will require a lot of patience, calmness, and consistency from her adopters. Therefore, we recommend attending a positive dog training class after the adjustment period. Regular training with her new people will give the sweet female dog security and consistency and support the bond with them. Due to her appearance, herding instincts cannot be ruled out, so her future family should have already dealt with characteristic traits. We wish for Mia patient and loving adopters who give her enough time to settle in and get used to her new living situation. Also, a foster home would be a great start for the little puppy into a new, happier life. Have you fallen in love with the little beauty? Then contact us. Mia travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas with an EU pet passport to her new home. She will be sent after a positive Many thanks dear Christine D., for giving the sweet Mia her name and thus her own identity. Date: 16.04.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 16.04.2026

About Mia

What life with Mia looks like

Mia is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
