Mia

Mixed Breed Cat · Female

Description Our animal welfare workers report: Mía was rescued from a street colony. Due to her extremely gentle, social, and gentle nature, street life was simply not for her. She is perfectly suited for a protected life in a home, and we therefore took her to one of our foster facilities. There, she currently lives harmoniously with other cats and children. She adapts wonderfully to family life. In character, she is more quiet, obedient, and very noble. She does not push for attention and does not loudly demand attention. But when you approach her and pet her, she lets herself be stroked with full devotion and visibly enjoys the affection. Mía is an incredibly loving and gentle kitten. At first, she shows a little shyness in new situations. Once she realizes that you mean her well and she gains trust, she completely warms up. Then she transforms into pure love! She enjoys cuddles to the fullest and expresses her gratitude with an endless, beautiful purr. 😻 Mía is not only character-wise a dream, but also visually something very special: She is a beautiful, rottailed kitten – which is genetically quite rare, as most red cats are tomcats! Mía deserves to find a home where she can feel safe, secure, and loved. For these animals, we are searching for a loving and safe home. The descriptions are so brief because there simply isn't time to provide detailed descriptions during our daily work to care for the animals. If interested, a detailed description can be requested by sending your questions directly to the provided email address. We will try to answer these as soon as possible. Home Sought For Mia we are searching for a loving and caring home. Our cats come – as far as their health and age allow – neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and with an EU Pass into their new home. Additionally, they are tested for FELV and FIV. Kittens are only rehomed to an existing kitten or are allowed to bring a cat playmate.

About Mia

What life with Mia looks like

Mia is a small adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
