Mia

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Description: Our animal welfare advocates report: Mia is a charming young dog with an exceptionally loving nature. She was found together with her siblings in an abandoned house, yet despite her difficult start in life, she has never lost her trust in people. Mia is very affectionate, cuddly, and people-oriented. She seeks the closeness of her trusted humans, thoroughly enjoys every petting and every bit of attention. With her friendly and open demeanor, she wins hearts in no time. She’s alert and curious, yet always cheerful and playful. At her age, Mia is appropriately playful, curious, and eager to explore the world. She gets along well with other dogs and has absolutely no issues with cats either. Mia would feel right at home in both a family setting and with single individuals who have plenty of time for her. Of course, like any puppy, she still has much to learn—but with loving guidance, she’ll grow into a loyal and easygoing companion. Mia is still growing and will probably end up being medium-sized. 🐕 Due to her age, she hasn’t been spayed yet. She’s stunningly beautiful, with her white socks, light-brown coat, and especially her fabulous black mask between the eyes, combined with an exceptionally even blaze running down to her muzzle. Her funny floppy ears, which she can perk up depending on how attentive she is, make her an incredibly sweet sight—once you see her, you’re simply smitten... ❤️ Mia is looking for her forever home—we’d love for Mia to find a home where she can experience warmth, love, and security and be welcomed as a full-fledged family member; having another dog as a first dog is ideal but not mandatory. ❤️ Who will give this lovely young pup the chance at a happy dog life? Please note: The feedback from the animal shelters reflects the current behavior of the animals here.

About Mia

What life with Mia looks like

Mia is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
