adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Mia has found her spot in Romania! Her story: Baia Mare, Romania. Doesn't anyone see me? Mia unfortunately belongs to our long-term residents and has never had the chance for a loving and safe home! Mia's story is typical and representative of many dogs in Romania. She and her siblings were unwanted and simply abandoned somewhere, left to fend for themselves. From that point on, the strongest survive. Mia couldn't hold her own and was therefore often the victim of fights with her siblings. She was often the loser in the pack, which has left its mark on her soul. Due to these experiences, Mia would rather live without other dogs. With people, Mia gets along well, but she is generally more reserved. It will take some time to earn her trust, but then she will become a wonderful family member. Maybe you can help with that. Mia has not had any contact with cats yet, so that would need to be tested first. The enchanting female dog is approximately 7 years old and has a medium size of around 45 cm. Positive reinforcement and loving consequences in dog training will help form a strong team. Children living in the household should already be older. Mia will be neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas in her new home. Of course, she will also bring her EU pet passport. Against an adoption fee of 450 Euro and only after a positive assessment. She is already looking forward to finally finding her own people. Many thanks to Sarah Sch. You gave Mia her name and thus an identity! Many thanks Gabriele K.! You support Mia with a monthly sponsorship!

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Mia hat ihr Plätzchen in Rumänien gefunden! Ihre Geschichte: Baia Mare, Rumänien. Sieht mich denn keiner? Vielen Dank an Sarah Sch. Vielen Dank Gabriele K.! Du unterstützt Mia mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft!

About Mia

What life with Mia looks like

Mia is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
